The Suite Life - February 2024

I love the start of a new year, with all the opportunities and possibilities it brings. We’re one month into 2024 and it’s already shaping up to be a thrilling ride. If you’ve committed to starting the new year with good intentions and some new habits (spurred on by Dr Gina Cleo’s new book The Habit Revolution) I hope your hard work is bearing fruit.

At TLS, our goals for the year are focused on creating great new opportunities for our existing talent and ensuring some of our newer talent are top of mind for each of you – and we’re already seeing fantastic results that we can’t wait to share (watch this space!)

As always, events are a big part of the plan and if the last few months have taught us anything, it’s that events are well and truly back. We’re fielding a lot of enquiries for our talent – for keynotes, panels and of course as MCs for your events. And there’s some important calendar dates on the event horizon – most notably International Women’s Day (IWD), scheduled for March 8. So if you haven’t planned how your organisation will recognise and support this year’s IWD event, there’s no time to lose – reach out to chat to our team so we can help advise you on the best speaker or MC to truly make your event sing.

And to wrap it up, a heartfelt congratulations to Ellie Cole, who was awarded an AM recently for her contribution and advocacy work within diversity and inclusion. We’re incredibly proud of Ellie’s achievements and her continued contribution to society. As we approach the holiday season, I hope you too can find plenty to appreciate and celebrate. I’m wishing you all a warm relaxing break full of laughter and joy. Thank you for all your support in 2023, and I’m looking forward to working with you again next year.

Enjoy the last month of summer,

PARIS OLYMPICS 2024

Of course, the most celebrated event for 2024 is the Paris Olympics in July, and we’ll be loudly cheering for our girls Tilly Kearns and Mariafe Artacho del Solar as they represent Australia (in water polo and beach volleyball respectively). We’re also excited to see Paralympian legend Ellie Cole in action in front of the camera, as she takes on her role as part of the Channel Nine commentary team, keeping us informed and entertained on all the action in the pool and from within the village. If you’re working through your Olympic campaigns now, it’s the perfect time to reach out and see how you can work with these incredible women to maximise exposure for your brand in the lead-up to the Games.

WE FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FOR SPEED!!

Getting ready for another huge year in the hot seat is Rally Driver Molly Taylor as she and team Veloce Racing look to start the year in the best way possible and chase the championship in 2024. The season kicks off February 17-18 in Saudi and it’s all to play for after Molly completed the 2023 as Extreme E’s most successful female driver to date (most wins across the 3 seasons). Not content to just follow the action? play your part and get involved in Grid Play ahead of each and every race. Details can be found here – or follow Molly’s IG for details of all the action.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

As much as Australians love sport, they also really love to celebrate love.Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away, and relationships expert Dr Nikki Goldstein says it’s a good opportunity to focus on your romantic relationship. If you and your partner have been neglecting your relationship, this is a good opportunity to bring back some intimacy.

"Get out of the daily grind that you’re doing and the routine. Go out to a restaurant that you’ve been wanting to try, go do something different, go have a picnic, go and be a couple and stop talking about all the crap that’s going on in the world and your life and your family and your relationship. And that’s when the intimacy will build."

We’re thrilled to announce a launch date for Dr Preeya Alexander’s forthcoming book, Full Plate. Following on from her hugely successful Eat, Sleep, Play, Love, this book will focus on healthy eating for budget-conscious families and managing fussy eaters. Full Plate will be out on 1st May. Pre order here.

In case you missed it, two brilliant books came out over the summer period that are exactly what you need to kick your goals in 2024. Add these to cart, stat.

  • The Habit Revolution by habit change scientist Dr Gina Cleo is all you need to set healthy habits that you can keep throughout the year (and beyond).

  • Burnout to Brilliant by psychologist Dr Marny Lishman, a graduate of The Academy by TLS, is the definitive guide on avoiding burnout and exhaustion in 2024.
