The Suite Life - June 2024

As the mornings get darker and the shortest day of the year gets closer, it’s a good time to reflect on how 2024 is going. It hasn’t been an easy first half of the year for some, with cost-of-living pressures and societal concerns creeping into our news feeds, but the good news is – (and there’s always good news) – we’re finding plenty to celebrate. At TLS, we’re feeling energised about the opportunities ahead, delighted about the positive feedback to our recent campaigns and raring to go with plenty of exciting projects in the works and some new talent to announce (watch this space!).

This year has brought lots of breakthroughs and celebration for our talent, and with the Paris Olympics and Paralympics just around the corner, there’s a mood of excitement in the air bracing us against the chill of winter. Just as we’ve seen in previous years, marketplace challenges are the perfect breeding ground for innovation and out-of-the-box thinking, and lately we’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic partners who are paving the way for brilliant campaigns built on clever ideas.

Focusing on the month ahead, June provides lots of cause for celebration, with Pride Month, International Men’s Health Week and World Environmental Day all on the horizon. As always, our talent are poised to take your messaging to the next level.

Til next month,

We’ve got some of the most vibrant, intelligent and interesting people in Australia on our books, so it’s no surprise our talent are regularly called on to share their insights in the media. Recently golden girl Ellie Cole graced the cover of InStyle magazine (check it out – the photos are phenomenal!) in partnership with R.M.Williams for Mother’s Day, and also hosted the R.M. Williams launch of the Paralympic team’s uniform. And rally driver Molly Taylor got candid about breaking down barriers in her sport and her road to success in an interview with AusBiz TV (start at 31:00).

Meanwhile, Dr Preeya Alexander has landed a regular slot on Nova FM’s The Chrissie Swan Show, sharing medical tips and giving support to listeners every Monday at 3pm. Preeya also recently sat down with the Future Women team for a must-listen podcast interview on the power of emotional vulnerability – listen here.

On the events front, there was a massive turnout to see Michael and Carlene Duffy at the Vintage Van Festival on the Sunshine Coast recently, who shared their insights and advice in a workshop on how to renovate the perfect vintage van. If you missed it, you can still learn all the tricks of the trade by checking out their book, This Old Van.

On the partnership front, our talent are out there flying the flag for some terrific brands. Just some of them include:

  • Congratulations to Mariafe Artacho del Solar for her partnership with Dr Hydrate, positioning the range of electrolyte-rich drinks as the fuel for her journey to Paris.

  • Tradie extraordinaire Bardie Somerville is thrilled to be working with imar insurance to encourage women in trades and support the tradie community to achieve better health and wellbeing – two causes dear to her heart.

  • Shelly Horton has teamed up with the fabulous team at Motto Fashions, for a partnership made in fashion heaven;

  • And Dr Preeya has renewed her successful partnership with NNT, a leading supplier of uniforms for healthcare professionals, showing that scrubs are a true fashion statement these days.

Whip out your digital calendar (or your diary, if you’re old-school) and make a note of these dates. TLS can help you align your brand to an impactful campaign around these events:

  • 5 June – World Environmental Day

Chef and sustainability champion Simon Toohey loves mobilising audiences to adopt better eco-friendly practices.

  • 5 – 11 June – World Allergy Week

Our GPs Dr Ginni Mansberg, Dr Preeya Alexander and Dr Michela Sorensen can bust myths and share advice about living with allergies.

  • 14 June – World Blood Donor Day

Dr Preeya Alexander and Dr Michela Sorensen are happy to spread the word about the benefits of donating blood (for donors and recipients).

  • 14 – 20 June – International Men’s Health Week

Medical doctor and psychiatrist Dr Kieran Kennedy, co-author of The MANual, is passionate about promoting better wellbeing among men, and Dr Tim Sharp (aka Dr Happy) brings a blend of science and heart to his messages about men’s mental health including this interview with the popular Mamamia pod – But are you Happy?
