The Suite Life - November 2023

It’s been another huge month at TLS, as we onboard some of the new talent we introduce last month – all emerging female leaders in sport – and the fun doesn’t stop there with the introduction of some more wonderful new talent this month.

So why so many new faces?

We’ve been fortunate enough to work for several years with amazing female athletes including Ellie Cole and Molly Taylor, and with the success that we’ve seen for them, we want to support and grow more brilliant talent in this space. It’s all part of a strategy that builds on our offering to continue representing the best talent this country has to offer across the areas of health, sport and lifestyle.

This month, we’ve added two more outstanding females to our talent suite. Both are trailblazers, and both are committed to breaking down barriers for other women. Get to know them better below – we think they’re going to become very familiar faces.

In other news, we’re edging closer to Christmas but there are plenty of other events on the horizon first, including Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week (12-17 November) as well as International Men’s Day (19 November) this month. As always, our talent are well-placed to provide commentary, speaking and support for your events and campaigns around these dates.

Til next month,

Please extend a warm welcome to these two talented women we’re thrilled to be working with:

  • Kate Peck – TV presenter, motorcycling expert and wine writer

  • Bardie Somerville – tradie, advocate for women in trades and tradie health, and winner of Network Ten’s The Bridge

Australia’s only habit-change scientist Dr Gina Cleo is always in demand for anything new-year-related. This new year brings something extra special with the release of her new book The Habit Revolution. Brimming with fascinating insights into the science of habit change, and clever tips for creating habits that stick, The Habit Revolution is the book you’ve all been waiting for to get on the right path for 2024. To pre-order, here.

Did you know that Gina is also an accomplished speaker and presenter – and the perfect way to help your teams kick off 2024 with a bang? To learn more about her, check out her showreel below or get in touch with the team here at TLS.

Other key dates coming up:

November 12-18              Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week

Did you know perinatal anxiety and/or depression can be a factor for one in five new mothers and one in 10 new fathers? “As a GP I see lots of patients seeking help in this space,” says parenting expert Dr Preeya Alexander and author of Eat Sleep Play Love. “I think some key reminders for the week are that you are not alone, there is plenty of help available (without any judgement or stigma) and please seek help early before things hit rock bottom because there are lots of strategies and extra supports we can implement to help the brain and mood.”

November 19                     International Men’s Day

As our collective understanding of masculinity continues to evolve, the guidance of strong male role models has never been more vital. Psychiatrist Dr Kieran Kennedy and former Men’s Health editor Scott Henderson – who both wrote the excellent men’s wellbeing guide The MANual this year – are already fielding enquiries for International Men’s Day campaigns, while positive psychologist Dr Tim Sharp, author of Audible’s Habits for Happiness series, remains a popular fixture at men’s wellbeing events.

December 3                        International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)

Since retiring from competitive swimming in 2022, Paralympian Ellie Cole has been busier than ever. Today she’s as well known for her commentating, TV presenting and speaking as she has been for her swimming over the past 17 years. As a high-profile advocate for people with a disability, Ellie is also an articulate and considered speaker on the subject and a wonderful fit for any upcoming events for IDPwD. Get in touch to book her for your event.

Improving health literacy is something we’re very passionate about at TLS, and working with an organisation like Westfund gives us the chance to do just that. Recently we created a series of fun animations to help Westfund’s regional customers take better care of themselves. You can access them here.

In the perfect marriage of our Creative and Talent teams, we’ve been zhooshing up Dietitian & nutrition scientist Dr Joanna McMillan’s website to make sure it beautifully showcases her expertise as a speaker, presenter and diet and nutrition advisor. To learn more about Jo check it out or if you’ve got a website needing a bit of TLC, call on TLS, stat!
